Welcome once again!
I am on a healthy kick today. I had a major crisis last night and so I have pushed myself so that I do not halt the hard work I have done on trying to work to my goal weight. As I have mentioned, when things get bad, I tend to withdraw and not work on my health. I have come to the conclusion that I refuse to deal any longer with people who are toxic to my environment. I will not allow them to treat me like they did while I was growing up. I don’t think anyone should allow any kind of physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual abuse in their lives. It is not healthy nor is it constructive. People were not made to be doormats.
So, around my birthday…I researched some exercise equipment. I decided to go with the FreeStrider because I love the elliptical and I really like the arc trainer. Treadmills are okay and this machine allows the treadmill like flow if I feel the need to walk.
I am still in the process of learning how to use it. I learned just 2 days ago, that there is a all kinds of music programs in it so I don’t necessary have to use my phone when i walk to listen to music. The speakers on it work great too. It is iFit enabled so you can walk with Google maps….which is….not really the way it looks on the commercials. On the commercials, they show it is being a smooth live stream of a highway. No, it moves by screen shots of the road. Its weird but still interesting to see the beautiful landscapes that I have seen while walking. I have visited Dubai, Cambodia, Philippines. Vegas, and Chicago.
I can tell I get a workout on it too. I breathe and I sweat and I am slightly sore the next morning. There are different settings…you can watch videos, compete with others, train yourself with your goals, and there is also a weight loss program where your “personal trainer” talks to you while you work out to keep you motivated.
Putting it together was actually simple. It is a very heavy piece of equipment.
The one thing that kind of bothers me and it really has nothing to do with the company, is that where I am only 5’1, the screen is not as clear for me. If I was about 4 inches taller, it would be better. You also have to step up on it. I was wanting my Mom to get up on the thing and start working out, but she has a hard time pulling herself up on it. She liked it once she got on there and moving. I have yet to get Jason on it and gettin’ his sweat on.
I like it because even though I live about 10 minutes from the gym, I don’t have to get ready, take a shower, get in the car, drive 10 minutes to the mall, workout, drive 10-15 minutes back home, drive around stupid people, and come home to take another shower and change clothes. I save so much time just getting on the thing and getting my workout done.
It is simplicity that I enjoy most in life.
So, get rid of the toxins in your body and the toxins that live and breathe around you in human form.
